Ordered a wok stir fry rather than a pho on this visit. Loved the vietnamese chicken curry with lots of fresh vegetables (sweet potatoes, pea pods, baby corn) over brown rice. Open kitchen looked very clean. Living plant wall on one side of the restaurant. The AC was a bit strong but I brought a light sweater in case. They do also have outdoor seating which I might try in the future. This is my second visit and food and service have been good both times. We tried a couple types of pho last visit and they were both good.

I was hesitant in spending 10 bucks on a owl of pho - the pho we are accustomed to costs 5 bucks in the San Gabriel Valley! But I tried it and we have been back many times since. The pho bo is what I get and I love it. I mean I still don't want to pay 10 bucks for it but the restaurant is nice, clean and service has always been excellent. Other people I dine with have tried different items off their menu since they are not big pho fans, and they say the food is good too. Love that we can hang out in the outdoors area afterwards.

Bad Vietnamese coffee. I was disappointed with what I had here. I was craving it and that's the reason I went to this place. Never coming back.

This place is decent when you really need to get a pho fix.

Don't even waste your time, if you've never had Vietnamese food this place might just trick you to think its good, but sadly this place is just plain ... bland. I went here thinking it would be better than the one in Westlake but its just as bad. Over priced and no flavor at all. Maybe she's accommodating to her surrounding clientele pallets.

My good friend and I just had lunch this new restaurant at The Lakes" in Thousand Oaks and had a fabulous meal. The peppercorn Mignonette was delicious, perfectly cooked filet mignonette chunks over a bed of mixed greens with a spicy, flavorful sauce. The crab cake appetizer was very good as well and the food presentation was beautiful. Our waitress, Natalie I. was excellent, very attentive and had a beautiful personality. We enjoyed the atmosphere, did not feel rushed, just very relaxed. Overall, it was a great experience. I have to try the Pho next time I go there... I saw many steaming bowls pass by our table and can't wait to try it!

Liked the decor and the waitress was friendly enough. I ordered Pho, and while the broth was good, they're kinda cheap, I think I got 3 tiny little shrimp. Too many good options around, I doubt I'll be back.

Very good experience! Great waitress. Fun food! Worth a visit!

The new location is great! We sat outside and enjoyed an early evening dinner starting with Fresh Rolls, and then had the Crispy Fish and Star Anise Salmon for dinner. Everything tasted excellent, and our server Vannarith was so helpful and courteous, making the experience even more enjoyable. We ended our meal with the The Spumoni Bomba (you HAVE to try this!!) which was unbelievable! We will definitely be going back!

The food was good but watch it when ace your order, it's very loud, the server made a mistake with our order and the manager insisted on charging us.

Little pricey but nice patio area. Excellent potstickers, tasty pho! Wonderful service and super nice chef. Fresh, clean, good French Vietnamese food.

Have eaten here 3-4 times in the past month and service was so on point 3 of those 4, as in really, really great. The one time it was off our server seemed spaced out and it took 30-40 min for soup, she forgot the extra jalepeno (twice), etc. Writing it off as a fluke. The food is absolutely outstanding though... Crave-worthy. Mouth-watering. Bummer they aren't open till 10pm on weeknights!

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because I was expecting authentic pho. The name of this restaurant is very misleading, but I'm sure their other fusion dishes are decent.

It is refreshing to find out that the recipe and great taste of the 9021Pho's delicious dishes are the same at all locations that I try. If you crave for a aspecific taste you rest asure that you will find it at any of their restaurants. I really enjoy the French twist of the traditional Vietnamese cuisine. As of a matter of fact Chef Kimmy Tang personally told me when I met her while dinning in her Thousand Oaks location, that a southern Californian taste played a role in developing her recipes. Now I know and glad to share with you what she told me and realizing why food was so good and tasty. I hope you will enjoy it too.

  • Jeffrey W.

I gave three stars for the service, not the Pho. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress were exceptional. I got the Pho Bo. It was not what I expected for a rare steak Pho. I don't think they have straight steak Pho, this one had meatballs in it. The broth was not great; maybe just beef broth from a can, it just didn't taste like real Pho broth to me. I should probably branch out and eat something other than Pho at Vietnamese restaurants, maybe I'd have better reviews, but what can I say, I fu#@ng love Pho.

Always get the best service and always go for my vegetarian favorite, the pho chay! The lychee iced tea is delicious. Lots of cocktails and local craft beers to choose from including the dude's double IPA, which has a hint pineapple. The new location at the Lakes is top notch. There is an awesome wall full of live succulent plants and peppers and things. You can't miss it because it's so rad.

What a special place and the bar tender Sarah was such a delight - we eat at the small bar. They have plenty of tables inside and also outside by the lake. The food is very different and very good - it's very refreshing as well as very healthy and satisfying. We were very pleased to walk away completely satisfied and with doggy bag (generous portions) for very special lunch tomorrow. !!! The curry spiced noodle dishes are ten (10) times better than they sound - really great. Soups are to die for. This is a great find in a place where they used to do Western Movies - the outback sticks of Thousand Oaks !!! Enjoy this great find - a great add to this Suburbia !!!

  • Tonia A.

Tess is the slowest server ever!!! It took her over 10 mins to take our order. It was slow and know one was there to take our order.

    (1)
  • Aria T.

To start off, the customer service is terrible, the woman that seats you in the front has the worst attitude ever (short, dark hair). The food gave me stomach troubles three times in a row. In my first experience, they took my order, and it took 30 minutes or more to get my food, WHICH WAS THE WRONG ORDER. In my second experience, the food that they served was cold, and I got diarrhea for three days because of the seafood pho. I rate one out of five stars for terrible service and terrible food.

  • Mike C.

Meh. In the mood for Pho and needed to stay in the Westlake area. The egg roll appetizer was good. The Pho was below average. The broth is really dark and salty. Portions very little and the price was high. My kids and I were still hungry afterwards. The service was good but the food is not that great. This is the second time we have been here. Thought it was a fluke the first time but after 2 tries, time to move on. Thousand Wok has way better Pho but problem is it is really slow and service sucks.

  • Kevin V.

Excellent food, ambiance and service. So nice to have other dining options in Thousand Oaks. If this half way appeals to you then I encourage you to try. You will be surprised.

  • Jeannie P.

Ugh- i think they changed the broth since i last tried this or maybe it was just better at the sherman oaks location..it was super salty and a dark brown color. It tasted like au jus! I had to add 4 cups of water to it to make it edible. I wouldn't waste my money on this again.

  • Zacharias B.

Pretty disappointing. I ordered what I expected to be a delicious Vietnamese style bahn mi (pork belly). It was bland, poorly paired with too much French bread, very little inside the sandwich... overall a major disappointment. I also tried this chain's Pho (at a different location). Equally underwhelming. Go to Mendocino Farms and order a banh mi... You'll never come here again. I would only come into 9021Pho again in a pinch, and with very low expectations.

amazing! Super good food for a really reasonable price (amazing tea )super nice staff. if you want to go out for a nice dinner but not spend too much this is the place!!! for sure agree date spot .defiantly one of my favorite places !

Horrible service, manager came over , asked how we were doing, we told him our concerns, he said he would rake care of our check in some way, check arrives, no discount, we ask him about it, he says , next time you come in..we said, there will be no next time..

Not too generous with utensils very healty food to urban modern to not be a representative of Vietnamese setting not the best for me

  • Karen W.

I always ordered the pho ga here and I used to love it. However, the last few times I've dined here the chicken was old and hard to chew, and the pho noodles and broth were tasteless. I had to keep adding Sriracha sauce for some sort of flavor. So disappointing.

  • Brittany G.

As much as I love this place to eat at never order take out ever, they've screwed up take out our order twice. If you want the food go the restaurant or you'll be screwed waiting for a second delivery

    (1)
  • Yunster Y.

They are on the right track. This is inside of an upscale plaza, so you wouldn't expect the authentic goodness that you get at a true Viet joint. But the broth is close, and healthier since they took out some fat. If you order a large pho they do a great job of giving you huge portion of rice noodle. I like how the noodles are of different thickness, which gives it a nice texture. If they can cook the beef more rare, and give more basil, that would bump it to a 4 star for me.

I was so surprised at how fantastic this restaurant is! The food was really good, hot and spicy just like I like it. Great sauces and a wonderful combination of Vietnamese, French and Asian influences. The Pho is so good! We also got the spicy Panko crusted fish, and the filet mignon, and we loved them both. Generous portions and very fresh high quality ingredients. I highly recommend you try this fantastic restaurant. We will be coming back many times.

The new location is quite a disappointment. We've gone twice and both times posed problems with what I hope are glitches. Because the owner has other restaurants and this is a reopening rather than a new place, one would think they'd have it down. The inside is way too bright and way too noisy. The garish interior reminds me of either Disneyland or a bright school cafeteria. Music playing loudly, television going, lights cranked to full spotlight brightness, noisy open floor seating design with terrible acoustics leaves nothing conducive to a pleasant dining experience. Then both the food and the service is inconsistent. The first time we went four of us sat outside on the very nice patio. two of us ordered the same dish and they were very different from each other in both taste and what ingredients they had in them. The other two in our party had their food arrive and it wasn't hot. Our service started out wonderful and then halfway through the meal completely stopped. We were unable to get even waters refilled. Two of us returned a second time late one evening and sat inside because it was too cool to sit on the patio. Again our service began with enthusiasm and smiles and then petered out. Our food was just o.k. though we never received the appetizer we ordered and because the inside was so awful to be in we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. I needed water, asked for it to be refilled and never got that simple request, leaving thirsty. The prices are the most expensive pho prices I've ever paid on top of the poor quality control and service. This is such a shame because they really do have some wonderful recipes/dishes and I want them to succeed. Hopefully they will turn the lights way down, figure out a way to lower the inside noise, get someone on quality control so dishes come out consistent and well...fix their service.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful wide selections on the menu, not a traditional PHO shop. Very clean and great service. I had their specialty mignon over greens and onions, it was excellent. Cooked perfectly, nice and tender. My wife had the closest thing they have to traditional Pho, she was not impressed. But she loved my dish and said she would come back to try some other selections.

Went to the new location for the first time. There is no ambiance. The tables are so small everything was crowded together and the restaurant was very noisy. The food was very good but won't be rushing back due to the atmosphere.

Sooooo disappointed in our lunch here today. Took my granddaughter whose family used to frequent the other location and loved it. Since 9021Pho moved to the high-rent district, it's totally different. First of all, the portions are so skimpy it's embarrassing! I ordered the crispy egg rolls and, in any other Vietnamese restaurant in So Cal, they give you a generous portion of the lettuce to wrap it in plus a lot of nice raw veggies. I received ONE small piece of lettuce, no basil or mint, and tiny quantities of carrot and cucumber. She ordered extra meatballs in her beef pho and she tells me they gave her fewer than the usual quantity she'd had at the other location! No one even offered us refills on our $3 iced teas. Took home a chicken pho which had 4 -yes 4- small pieces of chicken in a bland and flavorless broth. None of the complex flavors and seasoning of real pho broth. Here's a family who will not be returning to this place ever.

Great location. Nice staff. The pork Bahn Mi was awesome since opening, but recently the quality of meat has really taken a dive - tons of pork fat in a sandwich, yuck. Went back thinking it was a fluke, but yucky grissle again. I hope they get their quality back up, especially for the price.

Phoentastic I first visited 9021pho at the Beverly Hills location and was very happy with the food there. When I moved to TO this year, I was pleasantly surprised to find this nesting in one of the cooler spots in TO. The experience this time was a great one too. We ordered a combo of pho with entree. The pho was average but the entree was too good. We were also very satisfied with our chicken appetizer. Their wok section seemed interesting as well. This is however a slightly fine dining and hence little pricy. The service was nice. Overall a 7/10

I called yesterday at 11:10 AM to setup a pickup of spicy and sour pho. I showed up and informed the girl, waitress/cashier, that I have a $10 off from my five star.com card. She went to ring it up and said "oh I can't do that my manager is not here". She said "you can just use it next time". I said no thank you and I left. Being a business owner myself, I would have tried other options, like well the total is $13 and change. Can I just charge you $4.00 and have my manager ring this up later. That didn't happen. I am frustrated that I was not able to get my lunch today, I am frustrated that over the last 2 years that I have been coming to 9021pho it has been not been a consistent dining experience. The sauces change, the amount of protein in the pho changes, to go orders of pho are given with out the Anise, Sprouts and peppers in the bag, and asking for the noodles on the side and that not happening. That is upsetting to a customer that is willing to spend $14 dollars on a bowel of soup to bring the bag back to where they are going to eat it and find out then that it is missing or incorrect. We shouldn't have to untie the bag to check our own order. Well I guess time will tell if 9021pho will stay in Thousand Oaks or not.

I LOVE pho and will pretty much try out any pho joint that I see. Came here for takeout because I had a crazy Vietnamese craving, and was honestly not impressed. The interior is definitely really upscale and matches the overall shopping center, and they have a roomy patio right by the little lake. Firstly, the prices are off the charts ridiculous: ~13$ for a large bowl of pho? AND you have to pay extra if you want protein that isn't rare beef or meatballs. As someone who has really loved $2 bahn mi, 9$ for a sandwich is a total rip-off as well. The staff was really nice and service was attentive, but as a few other reviewers have pointed out I can definitely see how they could come off as standoffish on a bad day. I think this would have been alright if the food was good, but it tasted a little funny. The beef broth tasted really weird - the flavors were all off and there was an overwhelming taste of ginger. The tendon cuts were pretty tough, and some of my noodles were still hard. The bahn mi was pretty good, with lots of meat, but not really much else in it. Overall, 9021Pho is pretty nice and upscale, but I would probably pick cheap and delicious to upscale and weird tasting. I guess before I would have just sucked it up since there aren't a lot of Vietnamese places in Thousand Oaks, but do yourself a favor and just cross the street to Streets, which has a pretty decent menu for a lot cheaper.

I'm confused how to rate this place. If you're looking for a local pho joint where you can get a nice bowl for $6, then this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for "authentic" or "home cooked" flavors, then this probably isn't the place either. With a name like "9021PHO" I guess I should have had different expectations. It is very Americanized and glamorized which was a new experience for me and pho. As other reviews mentioned, its pretty pricey here. Flavors are a little bland and maybe not as robust? Just on the food alone, I probably wouldn't come back. The staff do seem to a be a little snotty, but thats something I'm not surprised with Thousand Oaks. Overall its just a very different experience from your typical pho joint.

Love the pho soup with meatballs. We would usually split a large bowl along with the spring rolls and felt full. Great taste. Great outside ambiance next to the lakes. The price is reasonable and staff always friendly.

LOVE me some pho!!! I'm a true Pho lover so I really do enjoy dining here. These are my fav dishes here: - Pho Ga (brothy noodle chicken bowl) - Chicken pot stickers - O M G AMAZING!! - Sweet Chili Chicken - amazing!! Hope this review helps!

I ordered a pick up order from this place for lunch and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived that it was ready. The staff was very polite and made sure I was satisfied with everything before I left. It was very easy. As far as the food goes, it was delicious. I got the large Pho Bo and I must say it was quite delicious. It was a lot better than I expected. It was a lot of food so make sure you go into eating it with an appetite. It lasted me lunch and dinner while I was at work so paying the 13 bucks for it is totally worth it if I get two meals out of it! I would go back to this place for sure :)

First, off you should never pay more than $7 for a bowl of Pho, if you are then you're getting ripped off. I've been to authentic Vietnamese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley and San Francisco and a big bowl of pho is $6 This place charges between $9.75-$11.95 for a bowl of pho. Now, that's pho-king pricey. I guess it's pricey because there's an option to choose a vegetarian broth, and they have gluten-free rice noodles. We ordered Mei-Nam noodles- curry shrimp, carrots, onions, egg, scallions and bean sprouts with noodles- $14.95 and added a small bowl of pho for $3 It's nothing to rave about. Wok Tossed curry with chicken- a dish with snow peas, onions, sweet yams, mushroom, baby corn and tofu. It was served with rice, but there's brown rice option, too. The curry was good, and the chicken was tender, but again overpriced- $13.45 The service was good, our server was attentive and friendly. Overall, if I'm craving Vietnamese food, I doubt this will be on the top of my list. Vietnamese food should never be this pricey. *This restaurant is located in at the Lakes in Thousand Oaks and there's plenty of parking in the rear.

Let me start by saying, I never loved this place when it was located off of Lindero. I gave it another chance after it moved to Thousand Oaks. I was spoiled when we lived in Los Angeles with amazing Pho spots, therefore, I'm having a difficult time loving this place, or even kind of liking it. This place is subpar at best, not very authentic in terms of the quality of the food. Location is nice, outdoor seating is available. Staff is subpar. Food is subpar. My advice is to skip this place and take the extra 15 mins going over the grade into Camarillo or Oxnard and treating yourself to a much more authentic and tasty Pho restaurant! Hope this helps you!

  • Francisco L.

If this is authentic pho, I am the president of the U.S. . This is imitation, where food is not made be authentic Vietnam cooks. Don't take me wrong, but if looking for authentic Vietnamese food go somewhere else. Most people that like this establishment must be white Americans that cannot tell the difference.

My husband was here three weeks ago and loved it. He is vietnamese and so he has high standards as his mum is an excellent cook of the vietnamese cuisine. He took me and my sister in-law today. We ordered Pho Ga, Pho Bo and fried fish and chicken potstickers as appetizers. Very fresh, very delicious. The pho is plentyfull. Lot's of noodles I'll just go with the low carb version next time however. None of us couldn finish all the noodles :). The fried fish is ecxellent with the spicy aioli... to die for. And so are the chicken potstickers. OMG. The vinegar dressing and the lettuce go so perfectly with the dish and give the potstickers an awesome taste of freshness. This is unusal for me to say as I am usually very picky with vinaigrettes of all kinds. Most chefs just make it too bitter. Definitely coming back here and definitely will take the parents in-law to show off ;).

Love this place!! They have fabulous noodles and a great happy hour. Everything is light and fresh. The servers are also on top of it and are knowledgable about the menu for those new to Pho. I will be back for their quality dishes and pleasant staff.

Had I read the reviews prior to coming here, we probably wouldn't have sat down. But we didn't, and stumbled on this place. Truthfully, We were headed for a burger and last minute, thought some Vietnamese sounded, well healthier. And it's not bad! Anyway, lunch time on a sunny beautiful day, we sat outside. Let's not give the name any credit and well, Earth To Waitress. She deserves two stars. Two...for.... effort? She literally forgot the siracha three times. And the salad dressing, twice. And the check. I mean there were like ten diners and more than enough people working, so literally, earth to waitress. Hello? And food takes forever to come out. And then forever to finish because she kept forgetting... Again, 10 diners!! Should be 9021-hellOoooO! But, let's talk food. We got the bahn mi, with-char broiled pork and it was good! I'd eat it again! If I could stand the waitress!! The lemongrass came through, the bread was perfect, and overall we really liked it. I mean they flew to freaking Vietnam to get the pork and the Bay Area for the shrimp (for our steamed dumplings) so better be good! a worthy four star sandwich. But seriously, you should work on service. Hello?

First time here but certainly not my first time having pho. I live in OC so you know what that means - a plethora of GOOD Vietnamese restaurants. I stopped in for lunch around 12:30p on a Thursday and was surprised it wasn't busy. Based on other reviews, looks like this restaurant moved from a previous location to this new location hence the higher prices. I think they are aiming to be a trendy pho restaurant with the house music playing in the background. Contrary to other reviews, the service was fast and the Pho Bo I ordered came out quickly, maybe it was just my luck. The food taste was in line with other pho restaurants I go to. I have to say they were a bit tight on the meat but other than that, I had a good experience.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. First when they were on Kanan road in Westlake Village, and later when they moved to the Lakes in Thousand Oaks. I've always loved their noodle dishes, and I have been a very frequent customer. Lately however the consistency and quality has gone way down, and I'm disappointed because their food is a bit on the pricy side. I have received different dishes than I ordered, and there's no longer any consistency in how the dishes are cooked and prepared. I can no longer recommend this place. I really hope they get their act together quickly because I want the old 9021PHO back.

  • Cindy J.

I don't get the mediocre reviews because I love the food at 9021Pho. I go there for lunch every couple of weeks and they remember my order. The Banh Mi sandwich and Pho Bo are delicious as are the fresh rolls and Bun Salads. In the sandwich, salad and rolls I can't recommend the charbroiled Pork enough. It's so succulent and tasty. We have always received great service at 9021Pho. The only thing I don't care for is the location. I can't stand The Lakes and the parking is awful there. I preferred the prior location near Lindero.

I use to love the pho soup here but everything has changed and now it has become too cafeteria. The one improvement is the location which is a plus. They are now using cheaper quality food such as mushrooms. They are now smaller and lower quality. The noodles changed to lower quality also. The bowls even seem smaller than when they first opened. They seem like they are trying to cut quality to save costs which I think is a big mistake. $11 or $12 is not cheap for just a bowl of soup. Service need to improve. Too much turn over. They also seem like they have raised their cost since they opened. I hope they figure out what they are doing wrong soon to get back to where they were. I really miss it. I use to go here at least 2 times a week.

Based on the Pho - I'd rate this a "Meh, I've had better" but since its the only Pho place near work, it gets a 3. I'm also giving this place a 3 because I have yet to experience anything else from 9021Pho. The Banh Mi looks like it will be the next item on my list to try. They have delivery which is a big plus. This is the only way I've experienced 9021Pho so far. If you are a Pho lover, I would recommend making the trek to Port Hueneme to Pho Saigon (I'm not affiliated in any way - they have AMAZING Pho for around $7).

Decided to come here for a late dinner with a friend on a Saturday night. We came in at 9:30pm, there were a group of people sitting outside so we assumed the place was still open, especially since it was a weekend night. When I walked in I saw one of the kitchen crew people, I asked if they're were still open, he said yes, so I called my friend inside to wait for a server. Then a gal came out and said that they decided to close early tonight so we couldn't eat there. She basically kicked us out because she didn't feel like serving us. I was appalled at the quality of her customer service. She did not care about the restaurant she's working for, she just wanted to hurry up and get out of there. Would not come here even during the day. Instead, we went to a Mexican restaurant next door, where they let us order 15 mins till the kitchen closed, and provided an outstanding service.

This place has gone downhill since the move from the Lindero location. This used to be my favorite pho joint but Kimmy has lost her touch. I used to come every week for lunch for a bowl of spicy & sour and it was great in the beginning. Overtime, quality and consistency has gone downhill. Every time I come I don't know what I expect in regards to service and food quality. Either the service sucks and the food is good or vise versa. I have never seen such a high turn over rate at any one place so this says something about the ownership. With all due respect, get it together. I won't be coming back anymore paying $20 for a bowl of inconsistent pho isn't worth it.

First, thank you to Kimmy Tang for making the effort to increase awareness of vietnamese food, particularly pho - actually pronounced "fu" making the pun in the name sort of...not punny. The menu offers pho as a side dish, to encourage people to try it. However, we came here just for pho. Warning though, if this is your first time trying pho, you'll be misled. First, when the waitress came, my mom asked for pho. "Which one?" the waitress asked. My mother was born in Vietnam and this question confused her. While there is a whole section in the menu for pho, in fact only the first one is pho. But it's not really. I'll explain. The broth appears to just be beef broth from a can. Pho usually uses a mixture of bones, pork and beef and whatever else, in a spice mixture. The magic that is pho is 90% broth, and in this 9021pho fails miserably. Next, the meat came cooked. I'm sure it's because Kimmy Tang knows Americans would be alarmed at a bowl full of uncooked meat. But the broth come near boiling hot (requiring the most well balanced of waiters) which cooks the meat in front of you. It's fresh and tender. Not so at 9021pho. It's flavorless and chewy. And there isn't any brisket or tripe. Your mouth just chews mechanically without variety on this flavorless, lukewarm dish. Fortunately you don't have to suffer the meat for long because there isn't much of it. Pho is also supposed to be a relatively healthy dish but they brought us only a tiny bowl of vegetables to share. Overall, you pay twice as much for a very mediocre bowl. Also our waitress was less than attentive and I found her chatting on her phone in the bathroom. That's actually the least of my complaints though - you'll hardly see a waiter at a real vietnamese restaurant anyway.

Awesome pho! If you like big bowls of different Asian noodle soups and lots of yummy dishes, This is the place. This is on my go to list.

Great food completely missed managed understaffed kept us waiting for 30 minutes with empty tables everywhere. Hire more help.

We love Vietnamese food but we're not impressed with this place. Service was average: we waited 10 minutes to get a server at our table to take drinks orders ...when the food came, half of the basil chicken sauce had been dripping off the plate due to the server not holding the dishware properly. Food was blend. We had the chicken pho and it was lacking spices. The broth was tasting like water, chicken was not tender. A real disappointment. The second dish ordered was the basil chicken and it was average. Just pretty simple but again not infused enough with basil. The location is great but we will not be back and prefer instead the fantastic Mexican restaurant Sabor next door.

Atmosphere is similar to a cafeteria- cold, loud, and table seating only (no booth) Service isn't great-Only place I've ever eaten where they give you a closed beer can and glass then have you pour it yourself. Ordered the 'Pho Bo'- meatballs have a rubbery texture and the broth doesn't have that depth of flavor desired in pho. Sriracha helped.

I liked the visual environment, but the staff turned me off. The waiter named Jordan asked me if it was my first time here, and I said yes. I followed up by asking him a couple of easy and standard questions about the meals because I had no idea what Pho was (what is your favorite? What is the most popular?) . I ended up placing my order, and my friend simply stated his order without any questions because he had been there before, and Jordan said with passive aggressive attitude, "thanks for being easy......" as if to scorn me for asking a couple of questions about the menu. Why even ask if it is my first time here if you aren't prepared to answer some of the simplest questions on the menu? We still reluctantly tipped because I may want to go there again for the food, but He seemed like the typical entitled waiter, and a lot of the staff gave off that vibe. I've worked as a waiter for years and have never been like that myself. The food was good and plentiful although not enough meat.

Excellent food! My daughter actually had brought some Lemongrass Chicken home with her. She offered a bite and I was hooked! I even had a cold and the flavor was bursting! I had gone in personally today with my brother and we both loved our dishes. Will be back ASAP! Very friendly service!

Love this place!!! Amazing food! Incredible drinks!! Unique, fresh, healthy recipes. Try the specialty drinks like the lychee martini & strawberry festival. Wow! Tastebuds tantalized!! The wall made of fresh herbs is so amazing too! They garden their own herbs right there in the restaurant. More restaurants should learn from this. Had lunch meeting here & staff was impeccable! The passion fruit tea is mouthwatering!!! The lunch specials are great!!! They can make it spicy or mild. Good veggie options too!!! Yum yum yum!!! Can't wait to go back.

If you're looking for modern Pho, this is the place. The spring rolls and charbroiled chicken are flavorful too.

I've eaten here a couple of times, and everything about this place is lovely. The atmosphere is very comforting due to the interesting wall garden and interior design. The service is wonderful, everyone is very friendly and you have to wait hardly any time for the food. Also caters to vegans and vegetarians as well, which is a bonus for people like my daughter!

I come here for the ban mi. It used to be great but now the meat is so skimpy all you taste is the bread and toppings. Too much money for such little meat. I will find a new place to get the ban mi.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! I feel like I just got robbed after leaving this place. It was the WORST pho ever. What is up with the skimpy tiny leaves of basil? For a bowl of pho that costs me almost $10, I better get more than just a few tiny leaves of basil. Being Vietnamese and all, I'm embarrassed that this pho even exists. The broth has a black color and is salty as heck. It had a foul smell that I could barely swallow. I think I almost threw up a couple of times for eating it. I basically just held my breath the whole time. The beef meatballs were sour, so I take it they went spoiled. My husband took a bite of it and spat it out right after. Sorry to say this, but the pho tasted like a**. Either that or there's a possibility that someone in the kitchen accidentally dropped a shoe in the pot. I'm so mad that I had to spend so much money for a bowl of pho that tasted so bad. I don't mind paying more if the food is good. Boo! Thumbs down.

The pho is not authentic. I could tell right away that the broth was going to be off because it was brown when I got it. Real pho is a clear broth served with a side of thumb. For a large bowl of pho, it came out to be around $12. Real pho costs around $6-$7. I am pretty sure we were just paying for the ambiance. The ambiance is nice with water fountains, flowers and twinkling lights everywhere. There was also someone playing the guitar. The service is good. I guess it depends on what your priorities are for the night.

Good atmosphere, friendly service, and good pho. I have been here a few times and the pho is pretty consistent. They have low carb pho options which is great if you want to go a little healthier. This place is good for some pho take out and it tastes just as good if you ordered it there. Also, my vegetarian wife loves this place as there are many accommodating dishes for her.

Went to the new location with group of 9 adults and 1 child. The restaurant was half filled when we entered and the same when we left. It was approximately 6:30pm on a Saturday night. It took OVER one hour to get our food, and all of the dishes were basic, from the menu, with no alterations requested. Besides taking forever, when the food did arrive the one child in our party was served last. NOTE - Not a good idea to serve hungry children last. Also three of the entrées were served cold. While they should have been sent back, after waiting over an hour for the food, we just dealt with it. Also simple requests, i.e. can I get a spoon or can I get some more ice tea, seemed to take a long time to fulfill. That is if the request was fulfilled at all. Bottom line - I have been here before in a small group and really enjoyed it, but after this experience I am not eager to return any time soon.

PHO has become one of my favorite casual places to eat. The food has always had great flavor and portions are decent. Lunch special prices could be a dollar or so cheaper. Servers have been hit and miss. Some are good and as few act like serving is a chore. I keep saying all restaurants owners would benefit from spending some time in Cheesecake Factory to try to emulate their efficiency. Lately, it seems to be hard to get hot tea at PHO. Either they're short on cups or short on pots, etc. even when it isn't very busy. Sometimes they serve the pot on a burner, sometimes not. Sometimes they bring you the tea cup on a saucer with honey and lemon, and lately not. Again, look at Cheesecake -- consistency is part of the formula for success. They have been making excuses for a couple weeks. If I were the owner, I'd drive over to the store and just buy more. In either case, the food is good.

Got take-out, some pho-bo, fresh rolls, grilled garlic eggplant and pho-chay. The best part was the fresh rolls, but the sauce, along with all the other sauces that were no pre-packaged, tasted watered down. I was not impressed by the pho. The pho broth was way too dark, bland and salty. It had a good smell that didn't seem to translate to full of flavor. I have tasted and made much better. In one of the pho bowls the noodles were not cooked enough and adding the hot broth did not cook them so I had to heat them up. The meat in the pho-bo was only so-so. The pho-chay did have a reasonable portion of tofu and veggies. I was looking forward to the grilled garlic eggplant. It looked great but lacked flavor. I was looking for the garlic flavor and the Asian tastes like the slight hint of fish sauce but nothing... bland. If I am in the area I may go back for the fresh rolls and to try other menu items just to give it a chance, but it's not going to be at the top of my list.

We had a great experience at the new location. I think when we were seated, no one told the waitresses as it took a while to have someone come over but once they did it was uphill from there. We had a great waitress Natalie who took great care of us. We brought out 2.5 year old and he really enjoyed sharing dad's Buddha Garden, lots of fresh vegis and nicely dressed chicken I enjoyed the nodded dish with beef and fat noodles and added the phone on the side for 4$, great addition. What really took it to a five review was Natalie attention to us, and the fact that while we waited for our meal our son could burn some energy at the sand lot next door and we enjoyed the cool evening outside. Will be back soon!

Love Love Love this restaurant. The chicken curry pho is AMAZING!!! I only have 1 complaint.....I love to get pho to go, but HATE the plastic containers that you put the broth in. I burn myself every time. The plastic gets REALLY hot. Also that's not healthy to have burning hot food in plastic containers. PLEASE PLEASE find a new container for the broth. Thank you....

My coworkers and I have been coming to 9021PHO for quite some time now, starting back when they first opened up their Russel Ranch Rd. location years ago. While the new location is bigger and shinier, everything else has been going downhill since the move. First and foremost, Alex is great and he's always gone above and beyond to make sure we're all taken care of when we come. With that said, 9021PHO has turned into nickel and dime central, now charging exorbitant amounts when we ask for additional sides when our orders come lacking. For example, spicy and sour pho, should be red, should be full of spice. When the broth comes lacking any spice and color, and we ask for a side of extra spice broth, we should not be charged $5. We should also not be charged $.50 for a side of green onions when our soup barely comes with any onions and we're merely asking for a 'normal' amount of onions. The icing on the cake is that the bill can only be split by a maximum of 4 ways now. So if you have a party of 6, even if 3 of them have cash, they will only split it 4 ways. So do we now have to sit in separate tables with separate checks if we are all craving PHO? What's next? Only one refill? 9021PHO has been our go to spot for years, we come here at least twice a week for lunch, but this place has been slowly going downhill since the move, and it's really unfortunate because the food overall is very good, but looks like we'll be venturing elsewhere.

Would have given 90210pho 4 stars for their old menu, but the new menu at the new location seems limited. My favorite is still the Vietnamese Noodles (similar to pad thai), but they got rid of some other favorites. The new location is much bigger and nicer than the old WLV spot, but it seems like they are trying to grow into a regional chain and making their menu more efficient, instead of keeping some of the creativity that had previously made this one of my favorite spots.

The new location is a failure in my opinion. It has gone from a nice little neighborhood haunt to a version of Chilis. The great flavor has been replaced with bland flavors and the service has gone to hell. We waited for 40 minutes to sit down even though there were empty tables. The server didn't even get us waters when we finally did sit down for 20 minutes. We ended up getting the entire meal comped due to the wait and the screwup of our order. Not going to try again soon.

Ordered takeout from here on a Friday night. Ended up getting the meal for free because it took so long (50 minutes) to make. The restaurant was busy and I noticed other customers getting irritated by the length of time to be seated and eventually served. Servers were yelling at the cooks and sending multiple items back. When we finally ate, it was terrible. The meat in the beef pho was inedible. I could have bounced the meatballs across the house like a super ball. The sliced beef was slimy and had an off flavor. We don't have many noodle houses up here- but I'd rather see a Noodle World who seems to have perfected the high volume urbanized noodle shop. Will never go to 9121Pho again, although I do appreciate the meal comp.

My friend is a "Pho-Freak", so we decided to go here. She told me they have rice noodles & since I'm gluten-sensitive, I was sold. THE GOOD STUFF: My vegetarian Pho was YUMMY delish!! The dark roast coffee was pretty good too. The gluten-free noodles were good. The service was good & it was a busy night. The waitress was very attentive!! SADLY, that is it!! THE BAD STUFF: The gourmet hot tea sounded Devine, so I ordered one of them...BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Then I ordered a glass of water to wash down the HORRIBLE flavor of the tea. When I tasted the water, I realized how the Tea could be so bad...they have the hands-down WORST TASTING Tap Water I have encountered in a restaurant in DECADES!! You CANNOT make good Tea with horrible chemical residue tasting water!! Then I asked about the coffee. They DO NOT have Decaf!!...How is that even POSSIBLE in 2015? However, they served me a nice tasting dark roast coffee. I guess it takes something as strong as dark roast coffee to mask how terrible their water is. FINALLY, I had a beverage I could drink!! My friend ordered a Chicken Pho which she characterized as AWFUL. I don't recall what she ordered to drink, but it must have been unremarkable, because she didn't mention it. She ordered Gelato for desert which she said was just "O.K.". It was served inside a toy Hippo (evidently their idea of a "Happy Meal" desert for kids). I ordered the Tiramisu & it looked (& tasted) like it was a frozen Trader Joe's desert (no actually those are better)!! I will cut a Vietnamese Restaurant some slack for having less than stellar Italian deserts, but they didn't have ANYTHING that was identifiable as a Vietnamese desert...is there such a thing? ONE ADDITIONAL GOOD THING: Our nice waitress didn't "push back" when I asked her to take the $5.75 pot of Tea off the bill, (I really only took 2 sips). THE BOTTOM LINE: I won't be back because; ANY restaurant that doesn't filter their drinking water, isn't getting my business. If you can't provide this most basic of all services, then I wonder "what else are they skimping on", maybe kitchen cleanliness!! BTW, I don't remember the names of the dishes as we went there 2 weeks ago, but I've too been sick since then (unrelated illness) to post this. One & 1/2 stars for the waitress & 1/2 star for the Vege Pho & dark roast coffee.

9021Pho has a wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan options, which is why it became a go-to dinner spot when I had a friend who lived out in the valley. She since has moved, so there's never a reason to go here, but she was in town this weekend so we made our way back. It didn't disappoint. I have to say, I've had better veggie pho - this time it wasn't served as hot as it could have been, and the vegetables were a little too raw - but overall it was still very good and the vegan pot stickers are delicious. Worth checking out, especially if you're in a group of mixed vegetarians and non-vegetarians and need a place to please all palettes. Very casual atmosphere - I'd go here with friends or family, not a date.

I went to 9021PHO and had a great 1st experience. I had never had pho before, and this place did not let me down. I ordered the Chao Fun, and my boyfriend ordered the Lemongrass Wok with shrimp. We both added the small cup of pho. Both items were good, however next time I think I would order one of the wok meals as well. The vegetables were delicious, as well as the sauce. The Chao Fun was good, but it is probably not something I would order again as a meal. We had great service, and the passion tea was amazing!

Horrible acoustics, tiny tables, attentive service, good food, priced OK. Our party of four was quickly seated at 6:30 on a Thursday, but at a table typically sized for 2 at any other restaurant. The tables are widely spaced, but tiny - barely enough room for our waters, the menus, and the Sriracha, sauce. One of our party is soft-spoken, and another has some hearing loss. Even at a tiny table, conversations were quite difficult given the "live" acoustics and loud music. On the positive side, appetizers & drinks were delivered quickly, dishes (by necessity) were cleared quickly, food was delicious, and the waiter was very attentive, as was the manager, who stopped by twice. Our appetizer, single glass of wine, glass of Thai iced tea, a chilled sesame chicken salad, and a Pho Bo came to $42, without tip. We saw numerous heat lamps in boxes in the back - perfect for the cooler fall season ahead for patio seating. Tables out there are still tiny, but at least the acoustics are tolerable. As an alternative source of Vietnamese food in Ventura County (a bit more authentic food, lower prices, adequate table space, far better acoustics), try The Patio at Players Casino, on Auto Center Drive in Ventura.

Awesome menu, amazing food, and Alex was the bomb! The Sweet 'n Sour Pho was HOT, but so good. The Mei-Nam Noodles sounded too healthy to taste good, but we were pleasantly surprised at the flavors--very refreshing, with a hint of curry which left us wanting more. Portions are good-size, prices are very reasonable and service--over-the-top. Kudos to Chef Kimmy and her entire team! Clearly one of my new favorite spots...and I eat out a lot!

So disappointed in the new location. It feels like a school cafeteria and is very noisy. The prices are high and my Pho had hardly any chicken. I had wanted to add broccoli but the cook forgot to put it in. Probably won't be going back.

Apprehensive at first because this is fancy looking. The food was very good! We had the fresh rolls, beef bun salad and grilled eggplant. Delicious! Definitely try the lychee martini with the lychee boba. Our server, Sarah, was sweet and attentive. Food came out promptly. Highly recommended!
